10 Empowering Thoughts You Need To Adopt

7. Get rid of "the Mondays."

Every single day we are bombarded with Instagrams and Tweets telling us how we should think, act, feel, etc. and it is exhausting! I guess in a way this article is doing the same thing, BUT hopefully these following ten bullet points are reminders that you can incorporate into your daily in a positive way. It is easy to get caught up with everything happening around us. Sometimes we just need to take a step back a breathe and remind ourselves what's really important to us.

1. You are enough.

You do not need to be everything for everyone... in fact, that's impossible. Whatever challenges this in your life, get rid of it. Inviting that negativity in only sets you to constantly feel like you are coming up short.

2. "Anyone who takes the time to be kind is beautiful." -Richelle E. Goodrich

Beauty is one of the most talked about subjects across all media platforms. It is more often than not talked about when it comes to looks. Remember that John Mayer tweet from October 2017? That pretty much sums it up!

3. Be productive - not busy.

It is easy to be busy, feel busy, and ultimately end up feeling exhausted because of it. Instead, try being productive. Plan you day out the night before. Know what you are going to do. And stick to your schedule.

4. Stay out of the comfort zone.

Take a risk. Try something new. At the very least you will learn something. Comfort zones are great if you want to stay where you are, but eventually you are going to have to break out of your shell.

5. It's OK to take a break.

Every now and then everything piles up all at once. It is ok to take a step back, see what your priorities are, and make adjustments as needed. Everything will be there when you get back to it. You need to take a breather every once and a while to keep your head clear.

6. Think healthy habits. Not restrictions.

It's easy to say I can't have this or I can't have that... instead of thinking that you are giving up something that may be unhealthy, think about as making healthy lifestyle choices. When you say you can't have ice cream doesn't it just make you want the ice cream more?

7. Get rid of "the Mondays."

Monday is the start of a new week. That means that you can be a whole week closer to fulfilling a goal of yours. That also means you can get back to (hopefully) doing something that you love. It means you can set new goals for the coming week. If you want Mondays to be dreadful, then they will be. If you want Mondays to be a positive thing, then they will be. It's all how you look at it.

8. Learn from your mistakes.

Hopefully, I am not being preachy here... but this old saying is so true! We love to sit there and analyze every little detail of every mistake we make, no matter how big or small. And while the analyzing is fine because that's where the learning part comes in, it's the part that comes after that messes us up. You can't dwell on it. Made a mistake? Figure out what you can learn from it, then move on.

9. Be brave.

Take a leap of faith. Ignore the haters. Share your thoughts and ideas with the world. It may take time, but some will listen!

10. Quality over quantity.

I think we have all heard the example of four quarters versus one hundred pennies. You do not have to have the biggest closet with the most clothes, or every little thing that becomes a fad. Be selective with the things that you put your time, energy, and money in to.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
