It is March, which means spring break is right around the corner for many universities across America. Even though spring break is only one week, stressed out college students use this time to vegitate on their sofas at home and catch up with their favorite television shows. They also embrace the springtime weather or, since some are home, studying for exams. Why is that? Frankly, some professors do not understand the concept of the word "break". Putting that aside, springbreak is a joyous time to spend with family and friends, and to try and relax as long as humanly possible. However, there are elements to spring break that we all feel in a simlilar way. Some people may find that the best representation of their feelings is through a song, poem or another artform. For me, I think our feelings of spring break can best be represented by the characters and creatures from the original Pokémon series. Ash with his Pokémon, along with his friends Misty and Brock, displayed an array of emotions throughout their iconic anime that premiered in the United States in the late 1990's. Not only do the Pokémon on the show engage in battle, but they have their own emotions as well. The Pokémon in the show along with Ash, Brock, and Misty, show us the joy and sometimes sadness and anger we feel during the short but well needed break that all of us can take for granted.

1. When you finish your last class before break begins.

2. Arriving home for break and realizing that you can sleep in your own bed.

3. Only being home for a few hours and already bickering with your siblings/parents.

4. Seeing your pets that you have missed so dearly.

5. Reuniting with your squad from home.

6. When you realize that break is half over and you haven't studied for your post-break exams.

7. But then you stop caring and go back to having fun with your friends and family.

8. When you get to sleep in every single day.

9. But you don't want to sleep all day so you try and get up early (but that doesn't happen).

10. It's the last night of break and you need to say goodbye to everybody.

11. You're in your car going back to school and feeling like this on the inside and outside.

Pokémon is not only a televison show about kids and their mythical creatures that battle, but they can truly represent how we feel when we are on our long-awaited spring break. Remember to enjoy your break from because otherwise you will be feeling like Ash when he is crying the entire time. Have a happy and safe spring break filled with family, friends and fun.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
