American psychologist C.E. Izard once proclaimed, "Emotions affect the whole person, and each emotion affects the person differently." Humans are incomplete without emotions because they are natural processes. Nowadays, I feel that the most supreme emotion is one that arises when you start getting judged by others. I'm not entirely sure what to name this type of emotion but I strongly feel that it is interconnected with sadness and depression. Being judged due to your inability to understand and perform well on an increasingly difficult course should not be something that others should do. I'm an ardent believer of the fact that not doing well in one activity or course should not dictate your overall performance towards everything in life! A single activity should be the bridge towards overcoming all odds that stand in your way and not as something that people should judge you for.
Sadness is a part of life and should be experienced because it contributes to the ongoing circle of life. In fact, it is the sacramental pillar behind other emotions experienced in life. According to "The Psychology of Specific Emotions" by K.T. Strongman, sadness is experimentally derived by feelings of "downheartedness, discouragement, loneliness, and isolation." It is also connected with "feelings of anger, fear, and shame." Loneliness is something that engulfs many people with feelings of depression and sadness. I encourage everyone to constantly strive to escape the confines of isolation and find ways to explore the world by enhancing their levels of social interaction. As a matter of fact, isolation can be caused by lack of personal and professional growth.
Scientific studies have proven that releasing your emotions via tears is an immensely therapeutic way to feel better. Having a hodgepodge of emotions trapped inside of you is not a great way to overcome your sadness and feel positive. Your tears bring out the subdued pain within you and make you stronger than ever!
