The holiday season is the most wonderful time of the year, full of dazzling Christmas lights, glistening trees and close family. Who wouldn't enjoy such a magical occasion? I'll tell you who. College students. While most of you think of candy canes and Christmas movies, we get to think of finals and packing. Not to say that we hate Christmas, but the lead up to our Christmas vacation is a little bit different from the rest. With that said, here are the emotional stages of being a college student during the holidays:

1. "OMG I get to listen to Christmas music, decorate the tree, bake cookies, look at Christmas lights, buy everyone presents and eat candy canes for every meal!!!"

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project.
