The Emotional Roller Coaster That Is Sorority Recruitment

For many students, going to college also means going Greek.Ā Whether you are excited, nervous or downright terrified, there's no doubt that rushing a sorority brings about a whirlwind of emotions.Ā Here are some GIFs to describe how you most likely will be (or already are) feeling in the weeks surrounding recruitment.

When you try to act excited for your hometown friends who are already in sororities.

But then you realize your ownĀ springĀ recruitment is only a few weeks aways.

So youĀ have to go shopping for recruitment outfits, butĀ you don't know whatĀ exactly "business casual" means.

And then you're counting down the days until winter break is finally over.

When you're headed to your first round of recruitment

And then the nerves set in.

Because you remember how awkward you are.

OrĀ other times, when you just don't clickĀ with the girl you're talking to.

When youĀ become friends with the girls standing next to you in line.

When you become overwhelmed byĀ the amount of singing, smiling and girl-flirting.

And you realize you stillĀ have eight more chapters to see today.

When you get cut from a sorority you really like.

But you suck it up because everyone says to "trust the process".

When you see how amazing pref round decorations are.

And you become emotional during senior testimonials.

When you submit your preferences and realize all you can do now is wait.

Waiting to open your bid card.

Realizing everyone was right when they said it would work out how it was supposed to.

Happy recruitment season!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
