Okay, fine. Every single song in all of their albums is absolutely perfect.

You scroll through your Instagram feed, mindlessly liking some photos and skipping over others. A post from The Neighbourhood (NBHD) — interesting. Double tap. You almost press your finger on the screen to scroll when you do a double take. Is that... color you see? In a post from the one band that is famously known for its monochrome aesthetic? A new era is upon the group, and with it means a new album. So you patiently wait months, and on March 9, 2018 at midnight, the album is released to the world.

And though you're sitting here realizing every song is absolutely beautiful, here is a ranking of each song in the album, from least perfect to most perfect:

12. "Sadderdaze"

I could never really get into this song, but I do like how relaxed it is. The title itself makes a lot of sense because of how fitting it is for such a laid-back song, but I don't know how I feel about how the music steers from The NBHD's usual synth/alternative taste.

11. "Too Serious"

I heard the guitar strumming in the first part of the song, and I really didn't like that. I'm not a big fan of acoustic songs or versions of them because it's not upbeat or something more intriguing, for lack of better term. I then fast-forwarded, and lo and behold, the usual sound of the band came to life. I was pretty satisfied with that portion, but the guitar at the beginning really takes away.

10. "Blue"

Not going to lie, I especially had high hopes for this one because so far, any song with a name that has a color in it has been more than meeting the standard for me. Take, for example, The NBHD's "Silver" from a while back. One of their best songs to date.

9. "Revenge"

One thing I agreed on with my friends when the album first came out was that this album has a lot of the band holding back, almost. In the sense that their old songs were outright powerful background instrumentals and singing, but while the instrumentals for this song may still be as powerful, the singing is missing something that first made me become a fan of the band. The song itself is really catchy, in all honesty.

8. "You Get Me So High"

I know this is one of the few songs off the album that was realized in the earlier EPs — specifically the "Hard" EP in this case — but I think I never focused on it because I was so in-love with "24/7" from the same EP. But now that I pay more attention to the song by itself, it's really nice and has a nice bridge. It's the chorus that I wish had more time and background instrumentals.

7. "Flowers"

If you want an upbeat song that will stay on-loop in your head for hours, this is your go-to. For being the first song on the album, I was honestly taken aback by how happy it was compared to the other songs of the album I'd heard from being released earlier. I truly was confused, but at the same time, the song grows on me more and more.

6. "Stuck With Me"

I like this one because of how calm and expected it is. By this, I mean that they don't steer away from the tune, and the tune itself is really catchy and amazing. Because this was released right after "Scary Love" (a song I absolutely love), I didn't pay as much attention to it at first. But, there's always time to go back and put this song on repeat.

5. "Nervous"

I really do love this song, and for some reason, I associate this with "Void," just as I associate "Scary Love" with "Stuck With Me." My thoughts on this don't wander too far from the general consensus that this is really appealing to listen to and something I don't imagine forcing myself to enjoy.

4. "Scary Love"

Sometimes, you listen to a song in the background while working on a different activity, and you have to look up from your work because you're surprised at how much the song stands out from the rest. "Scary Love" is the perfect example of this, and the more you listen to it, the better it gets. Just don't be like me and accidentally play songs so much that you start to hate them.

3. "Void"

Honestly, this was the best of the singles they released before the album came out. I was already enamored with "Scary Love," so to hear a song better than it was amazing to me. I have no words for how much I love this song.

2. "Reflections"

As if the list just couldn't get better. At first, I didn't like "Reflections" because the high notes in the chorus were holding back (as mentioned before). But the more you listen to it, the more you realize that what you originally thought was the bridge was actually part of the chorus. And as always, the background instrumentals were ethereal.

1. "Softcore"

I'll never forget the moment I refreshed Spotify and saw the new album had come out. I decided to listen to all the songs in order until I realized how old songs were mixed with the new ones, and I couldn't wait any longer. I fast-forwarded until I reached "Softcore," and never has a song made me cry so quickly.

There is no way to describe what it feels like to have your headphones plugged in and listening to the synth part in the middle of the night. You feel like you're being transported, yet you're stuck in disbelief at how beautiful it is. This is definitely one of their best songs of all time.

And there you have it! The general takeaway is that The Neighbourhood will always be one of my favorite bands, but they'll have their good and bad tracks here and there. You can listen to the self-titled album on Spotify here (preferably in the order listed)!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
