I, like most middle-class Americans, live vicariously through the glitzy, sparkling life of celebs on the red carpet. From the painfully expensive clothing, to the impeccable makeup, and the thrill of the awards ceremony, there's nothing to dislike about the Emmys. Truth be told, the looks of the night pique my interest the most - so I've complied some of my faves from this year's show below.
1. Taraji P. Hensen

Slaying the game in Giambattista Valli Fall 2018, Taraji blew us all away with this elegant yet fun, classy yet sweet number. The black gauzy material accentuated with pink and green florals makes for an eye-catching and unique garment.
2. Gaten Matarazzo

Gaten manages to be one of the best-dressed males of the evening, surpassing the majority of the older stars in attendance. Men at red carpet events tend to underperform, wearing nothing but a simple black suit that looks like it belongs at a high school prom. Not in the case of Gaten, who wowed us all with a mustard yellow top and a classy black flower lapel pin. Keep raising the bar, kiddo!
3. The Fab Five

Another group men men who raise the bar at red carpet event is the Fab Five. Now I could go into depth of each guy's outfit, but that would take up the entire article. Needless to say, each and every one of the Fab Five completely killed it this year, from Bobby's understated calm blue, to Jonathan's plunging neckline turtleneck. Antoni keeps it classic with solid black clothing, but throws in a twist in the cut and styling of his outfit that stands out from every other man in black. Tan, ever the fashionista, makes a BOLD statement with his print suit. Last but not least Karamo looks like the epitome of class with a wine-red suit and black cape, accentuated by a gold chain and black calf-high boots. Talk about classy!
Issa Rae

Issa Rae graces the Emmys with a powder blue pantsuit/dress combination. Her outfit takes the best of both worlds -combining the flow and flutter of a dress with the sleek, mature look of a pantsuit. The pearly beading on the bodice matches perfectly with her earrings to make for a stellar look!
Sandra Oh

Gracing the Emmys in a plunging red neckline on a floor-length dress, Sandra is the picture of poise and class. The material flashes subtly with different hues of red, and the matching waistline and sleeve accents are a nice touch, adding a jeweled look without being tacky.
