5 Reasons Traveling Is A Must, Not A Luxury

Traveling not only helps one develop an awareness of the world and the cultures, languages, and religions that there is, but it also helps us develop compassion and understanding for others.

Here is a list of why traveling is a must:

1. A break from social media

While social media is great and it connects us with our family and friends, there are times when we need to step away from the internet and social media for our overall well-being.

Everyday stress creeps up on people and is connected with blood pressure which is associated with long-term health problems. And on that note, liberate yourself from the internet and social media.

2. Shifts in perspective

Step out of your bubble, and embrace the world!

Traveling helps you appreciate and have a fondness for the people, the cultures, the languages, the history, and religions out there. It helps you create and become more aware of who you are and helps you intellectually develop as an individual.

3. Social connections

Traveling can bring some unexpected events and create new friendships that will a last a lifetime.

4. Memories

Traveling will bring you everlasting memories. Whether it is from meeting some of the best people you’ll ever meet to falling in love with the landscapes, the people and lastly the culture and the city.

Traveling creates everlasting memories that will stay with you and teach you about life. Or they just might be memories, that are too fun or too funny to forget.

5. Appreciation

Being away from home can also make you appreciate your family, friends, and your home. At the end of an adventurous trip, you will look forward to going home, just to get that traveling bug itch once again.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
