Now fall in Florida is not the same as fall everywhere else. You don't see the changing of colors in the leaves or the inevitability of colder winter temperatures approaching; instead we get an extended fall that goes straight through winter with cool temperatures and warm sun. So here are a couple of ideas to keep your fall fashion in style without breaking out in sweat with those thick sweaters.
1. Cardigans
Who doesn't love throwing on a cardigan before going outside on a chilly day. However, in Florida, cold days are hard to find. So pair a light cardigan (or heavy) with either a light t-shirt or tank top and shorts so you don't get too hot during the day.
2. Scarfs
Scarfs can always enhance your outfit throughout fall because it's a staple we've come to associate with the season. If you choose anything heavier than cotton or silk, you will definitely be sweating by noon in the Florida heat.
3. Flannels
Sorry to say that if you try wearing a fall flannel button up during the day, you might get heat stroke. So if you really need to look like autumn try putting that flannel pattern into your outfit with a scarf.
4. Sweaters
You're going to want to leave your bulky, comfy sweaters at home if you're in Florida for fall; it just doesn't get that cold. So, instead, if you're really feeling sweater weather, wear a tank top sweater paired with jeans or leggings or pair a light sweater with shorts to keep you cool.
5. Boots
I have to say my favorite part of fall is being able to wear boots and leggings everyday, but down here that would be kind of impossible. So if it's not cold enough to wear your combat or ankle boots, try to invest in a pair of key-hole boots.
6. Socks
The only way to wear boots is to put on those nice, comfy thick socks. However those are impossible in Florida, so try some light knit knee high socks with your boots and shorts combo.
7. Leggings
Leggings are a staple in every girl's wardrobe, and mine is no different. If you asked me to choose jeans or leggings, I would choose the latter. So yes, I've suffered through the heat in leggings while I've been down in Florida, but my capri leggings get me by even better; so grab a pair for fall this year and you won't be sorry.
