We need to stop thinking that things only happen to us. Everyone gets embarrassed, everyone says dumb thing to the boy or girl you like, everyone drinks too much at least once in their life, and everyone has embarrassing questions that they are absolutely terrified to ask about because what if you get the response, “no, that never happened to me”. Tragic right? Wrong. That will never happen.

This is exactly why you need your girlfriends. The amount of girls nights filled with stories about boys, girls, family, stupid fights with friends, eating vast amounts of food, literally every topic you could imagine is uncountable. Who else are you supposed to go to when the boy you like is a bad kisser, or that date you went on was atrocious, or you have a question that you’re just a little too embarrassed to ask your mom about – you go to your girlfriends.

Some of the best nights have been gathered around with my girlfriends talking about absolutely everything and absolutely nothing. Just conversations jumping from one to another without any rhyme or reason beyond just “I don’t know. I wanted to talk about it”. These are the conversations that need to be had, not for your own sanity, but for everyone’s.

People are often too rigid about what they discuss because they’re embarrassed that no one can relate to them or they sound ridiculous. And, as I’ve stated before, that never happens. Someone will always out-stupid you, out-ridiculous you, out-everything you. That’s the beauty of having these kinds of conversations, you only learn more about yourself and your best friends while being more comfortable with who you are and all of the ridiculousness that comes with you.

Be proud of your crazy and share what you got.

Kim K gets it.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.

1. People assume you are mad all of the time.

2. Ten out of ten times you will give off an intimidating impression to others.

3. People do not acknowledge your feelings because you "do not have any."

4. Constantly being exhausted from trying to smile and not look like a witch.

5. And on the rare occasion your facial expressions show how happy you are, your friends think you are going crazy.

6. Each of your friends has said "I thought you were so mean when I first met you" at some point.

7. Then they follow that by saying "you are just hard to read."

8. So naturally if people do not know you they just assume you are a snob.

9. And when you are actually mad, your facial expressions are horrifying.

10. In the end you always look like you are judging people, when in reality people are ALWAYS judging you.
