We all have heard of the famous TV Host, Ellen Degeneres. While hosting her show on NBC at 3 P.M. every single day Monday through Friday, Ellen is known for being relatable.

In fact, as a college student, Ellen is sometimes VERY relatable.

1. Terrible eating habits

When you know you're getting the Freshman 15, then the sophomore, and then the junior. Oh please, do not let this continue into the senior year!

2. When you are a star student.

Okay, so maybe you actually turned your assignment in at 11:49 instead of 11:59 P.M. You deserve a medal! Who says participation medals are silly? You go ahead and get that 10% of your grade participation points!

3. Lecture feels

When you're in double block lecture trying to stay awake. Even in an 8 A.M. class, this will probably be you as your professor clicks through the endless amount of slides.

4. The beginning of the year

Go ahead, ask me for a fun fact. Do you want two truths and a lie? Want to know my major and year? You have been prepping for this day since last semester.

5. The struggle

When your life is going down the toilet and you feel like you're drowning in homework, don't. Go ahead and drown in a box of wine instead! It will make you feel better.

6. Going out

When you finish your box of wine and need to go out, dress like Ellen. Go out, and forget about your cares in the world and all of those assignments due at 11:59 P.M. tomorrow.

7. People need to be quiet.

You probably say this to that one annoying kid in class who wants to remind the professor about an assignment or a quiz. You also probably say this to people like your roomies on a Friday morning after a crazy Thursday night out at AXP or Phi Kap.

We may all watch Ellen at 3 P.M. every day but, as college kids, we also need to live like Ellen every day. No matter if you are working hard or maybe playing hard, remember to always be kind to one another!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
