Who inspires you to do the things you do every day? It could be anybody from a family member to a celebrity. Many of the people you just thought of are inspirational, and each person is unique on why and how they inspire you.
How many of you know Ellen DeGeneres? Probably everybody, right? In my opinion, her middle name should be "inspiration," because that’s what she brings in every show. There is no one like Ellen, but everyone should be like Ellen. She can make you laugh and cry at the same time in one show.
If I had the opportunity to meet a celebrity off my list of who I would like to meet someday, Ellen would be my number one.
Ellen and I go way back; I have been watching her ever since I could remember. My mom used to pick me from school and that was our after-school ritual. By the time we got home, we maybe caught the last half hour or so, but I didn’t care, I was just happy to watch her.
There is just something I can’t put my tongue on, which is on how I feel watching her. There is no single word to describe her or how a person feels watching her show.
Ellen isn’t your ordinary talk show. She does it all in a one-hour show. She talks to celebrities or people that inspire her, she gives money to charity, she raises money for charity, she gives money to people in need and those who are struggling and have a story. And she certainly doesn’t forget about her audience members — they get free stuff and participates in games that she does during her show.
There is no one else like Ellen, but we can all be our own spitting image of Ellen, and we don’t have to be a celebrity to do so. So let's go out and spread some positive thoughts in our own way. In the words of Ellen, “Be kind to one another.”
