6 Reasons Elizabeth Warren Would Make The Perfect Vice President In A Joe Biden Presidency

In an interview with Rachel Maddow, Senator Elizabeth Warren was asked if she would join Joe Biden as his Vice President if he asked her to join in as his running mate. Warren replied "yes."

Although there are lots of qualified women candidates that will all be vying for a spot as his running mate after he announced he would be seeking a woman VP, Warren might be the perfect fit.

1. "I have a plan for that"

This was Warren's consistent slogan during her presidential run. And if you look on her website, her plans are comprehensive and numerous.

As a candidate that wants to get things done, Biden will certainly be looking for someone that has plans and knows what it takes to execute them. Among all the Democratic candidates, Warren presented herself as the most prepared and could certainly bring a lot of that initiative and preparedness into the White House to make Biden's administration a full-fledged machine.

2. The "unity" candidate

One major selling point for Warren's campaign was her ability to unite the Democratic party. According to the New York Times, Warren said in an email that "[Democrats] can't afford to repeat the factionalism of the 2016 primary."

In the 2016 primary, Bernie Sanders was condemned for seeing his primary run to the end. Some said it divided the party instead of uniting it, as it would have if Sanders dropped out and supported Clinton early on.

Warren intended to see the uniting of the party in a time when it needed to be united. For a vice president, the desire to unite people within a party and potentially across party lines is a valuable asset to an administration.

3. She draws big crowds

Not only has Warren drawn big crowds to her rallies, but young people also waited for hours to get a selfie with her. Although policy and political aptitude are important for a vice president, the eventual key to defeating Donald Trump is support from voters and Warren might be what tips Biden over the edge to victory.

4. Warren is inspiring, charismatic, and personable

From speeches she's given, it's clear that Warren knows how to talk to people on multiple different levels. In a debate setting, she spoke with candor about policy specifics and in post-primary speeches, she ignited her crowds and talked in a very human, non-politicized way.

It's important that Biden's running mate can speak to the people in many different ways and is someone that is not only proficient but also relatable and personable.

5. Straight forward and tough when she needs to be

In the debates, Warren called out Mike Bloomberg immediately, showing that she is both tough and straight to the point — something that is crucial for anyone serving in any White House administration.

Additionally, she used the debates as an opportunity to stick up for women in the workplace, showing that she cares about often marginalized communities of people.

6. She's a two-term Senator

Warren has served in the Senate since 2013. Over her tenure, she's served on multiple committees including The Committee on Armed Services, on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, and the Special Committee on Aging. She brings seven years of service as a senator sitting on committees that have provided her with vital tools to help the nation in the Biden administration.

While it is still unclear who will be Joe Biden's running mate, Elizabeth Warren's argument is strong. She has the proven skills needed to be an effective running mate and already has the ear of Biden himself who posted to Instagram to talk about Warren.

As the general election draws near, it will be interesting to see how Warren's role in the Biden administration takes shape.
