Subcultures rise and shine all around us. Sometimes the rate by which new subcultures are produced is so high that you might just have missed one of the coolest subcultures today. To us, ordinary folks, elevator is just that claustrophobic transportation method in which we have to squeeze in with some old ladies when we’re too lazy to go by stairs.

To some however, they are a fascination making the elevator riding an obsession. These unique individuals go by the name ‘Elevator enthusiasts’.

In order to spot an elevator enthusiast, just search for a person who is riding the elevator up and down, riding the elevator to the highest or lowest floor, taking pictures or videos of elevators and sometimes sharing them on social media, recording the speed of the elevator, focusing on the leveling of the elevator, check the elevator inspection certificate while they are riding, watching and identifying the elevator fixtures, looking for many places that may have interesting elevators to ride or simply doing a research of elevators in your local library.

The whole trend started when a YouTube sensation Dieselducy posted his first elevator riding video in 2009. This video soon reached appreciation by huge audience who just never considered doing this form of amusement before. Dieselducy's followers started doing videos of their own and YouTube soon enough became a breeding ground for what is now know as the Elevator Ethnusiasts subculture.

Make sure to hop on the platform and check out the videos which started a hobby for the new generations. Who knows? It might just be a thing you're into.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
