Two years ago, in 2014, I was going through an incredibly hard emotional time. In the midst of it, I strongly believe that God gave me a dream that would speak to me, and hopefully speak to whoever ends up reading it.

Here is the Facebook status I posted after it happened.

God gave a prophetic dream two nights ago and He finally gave me understanding to it and I thought it was TOO COOL not to share!

In a preceding dream, I had been abused twice (which represented inward spiritual warfare I've been struggling with).

Then, during a youth assembly at my school, Valley, a voice over the loud speaker told me to come to a teacher's office.

People asked what happened, and I told them that the professor probably wanted to sort out whatever had been going on regarding the "abuse."

Though I didn't know where his office was, my friend Grace led the way.

"Are you sure you know where you're going?" I asked.

"Yes."

She led me to an elevator that took us to the eighth floor, then fell QUICKLY to the second floor, then ended at the first floor where the teacher's office was. During the elevator ride, I talked to two guys from a younger year who in high school I thought were VERY immature and annoying, but found that now as older men, they spoke with maturity and humility about their past and where they were now.

I tried to look up what eight and two might meant on dreammoods.com

Apparently, eight stands for power/authority, while two means balance/duality.

Then, God revealed this to me:

Though in life we don't always know where we ought to go, or where our calling might be, the spirit of God's GRACE leads us to where we need to go.

When God allows us to be elevated to positions of leadership (or power/authority) we need to be QUICK to have a balance between humility and maturity.

I looked up "one" which could stand for "a higher spiritual being." This amazed me because the first floor was where the teacher was.

(HERE'S MY FAVORITE PART)

AT. THAT. MOMENT. of looking up symbolism, I remembered what the loud speaker had said. "Sarah, please come to Mr. El Roi's office"

"El Roi?"

I quickly Google searched "El Roi" and to my absolute surprise it meant, "GOD WHO SEES ME" (I did not know this previously).

To my amazement, God touched my heart and assured me that whatever spiritual pain I've been dealing with in my heart, there is a God who SEES me.

When I couldn't sleep because I was so excited about El Roi, I felt the need to look up "office," just to see if it could mean anything. One idea of its symbolism is: "your place in this world"

That's when it hit me. God literally CALLS us to be in communion with Him. GRACE leads us into His presence. If we want to be raised up as authorities in Christ, we also need to meet with the Lord and be in His presence. We need to have a foundation in His presence and Word for us. That even while we are in the world, our place and calling is to be with God.

Everyone, I am so thankful to God because through this I realized that even in a time of desperation and fear for this world, we believe in a GOD WHO SEES and a God who still speaks. That in these dark times, God does not remain silent. He speaks through the church, signs and wonders, speakers, worship, but MOST IMPORTANTLY, the Word which keeps us grounded and points us to Life because it brings us to the Giver of Life.

In this time of desperation, He IS raising up a generation of people who take up the call of meeting with God, who are desperate to intercede and spread the truth and love of God through testimony and action to a world that is so inclined to only see darkness.

Everyone, God is real. And He still speaks. He still sees, and all He wants is for us to get a hold of Him and the reality that He wants to settle the pain and situations that go on within our spirit. Before we can be sent out as authorities under The Lord, we must first be consecrated and made new by Him.

I personally think that's why I didn't "get off" at the 8th floor of say "leadership" because I still had to go to God FIRST to settle the "abuse situation."

After all:
If we want to change the world, change begins with us.

We need to be changed from the inside out, and the way to do that is to meet with God, the God who sees us.

If you have read this, I strongly believe that God led you to it for a purpose. My prayer for you is that, regardless of your beliefs or current emotional/spiritual state, that you will meet with God. My prayer is that you will hear Him speak His love over you, and that you would find your foundation grounded in His truth, in The Word.

28 Daily Thoughts of College Students

"I want to thank Google, Wikipedia, and whoever else invented copy and paste. Thank you."

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
