Being in a relationship when you’re about 5’2" and he reaches 6’2” always turns out to be different than your friends’ relationships with normal height differences. It has its ups and downs, (pun intended).

1. Short jokes.

This one is inevitable and pretty much daily.

2. Standing on your tip toes for kisses.

Sure, it looks cute to everyone else. But to you it’s so regular, it’s pretty much a calf workout.

3. Standing on your tip toes for everything with him.

“Hey, babe, look out there, can you see it?” Um no, lift me up please.

4. Even your cutest picture is bound to look a little awkward.

5. Trying to show off your cute outfit in a picture together? You can forget that thanks to that annoying cropping feature.

It’s literally your head or his.

6. He’s been known to run into you when he turns around and tries to walk.

“Oh! Didn’t see you there.”

7. He has to bend over for forehead kisses.

8.He has to bend over for regular kisses.

9. He has to squat to hug you.

If not, there are consequences.

10. He puts you on his shoulders when you can’t see.

This one is kinda handy. It’s alright being the tallest one at a concert for once.

11. Sometimes your head ends up an arm rest for him.

Ouch, elbows don't go there.

12. His old t-shirts are dresses on you.

They make for the best sleep shirts.

13. You trip in his sweatpants.

Also nice to sleep in when it's cold.

14. He’s constantly getting things down for you.

“Babe, could you reach this for me please?”

15. You force him to go grocery shopping for your personal assistance of top shelf items.

Because, let’s face it, if you didn’t have him, you’d have to ask a worker to follow you around the entire store.

16. No matter how high the heel, you will still never be as tall as him.

One less thing to think about before splurging on those new Steve Maddens.

17. Cuddling sometimes is a little awkward - especially under a shared blanket.

His feet are out or your head is under.

18. The only time you’ll ever literally see “eye to eye”:

19. No matter how hard you try, you’ll never be able to keep up with him when walking together.

Either he has to consciously slow down or you have to do a steady jog. Pretty much for every step he takes you have to take two.

20. In the end, it’s so much faster for him to pick you up and carry you.

21. You really never have to worry when you’re together because you always feel protected.

He's usually bigger than most people you're around.

22. You might as well give up on ever being menacing to him.

23. You can always tell when he drove your car last.

*Waits for seat to move from the furthest back to the closest up*

24. The cute head tilt onto his (or his onto your) shoulder isn’t really a thing for you two.

25. It never really works for him to put his arm around your shoulder, either.

Yeah, even sitting down it’s uncomfortable.

26. He doesn’t always have to squat; sometimes it’s easier to be picked up for kisses.

27. Sometimes selfies don’t even work.

28. Forever dealing with the awkwardness of being so much shorter that he can’t always hear what you’re saying.

"Oh, sorry, what did you say?"

29. "Wow, he's so much taller than you." "He makes you look so short." "Your boyfriend is really tall."

Yeah, I know.

At the end of the day, that height difference doesn’t really seem to matter, (except, of course, when you’re being choked by the blanket as you try to sleep) because you love him. And no matter how awkward your pictures look, you secretly love being so much shorter/breaking your neck for kisses.

cousins

I've known you your entire life. More than likely I held you in the first three days of it and at least one of us cried. Cousins are truly one of the best things in the world and while sometimes I complain about how many people crowd Grandma's living room on Christmas Eve, I wouldn't trade you all anything.

You are my best friends, the only people who can understand what it's like on Thanksgiving, and you are the spunkiest people I have ever met. But you as so so young, most of you are just now starting your adventures in the public education system. I mean, I'm so very young too. I'm not married, I don't have children, heck, I just started my adult life, but I do want to give you what little advice I have. My dears, these are the things I want you to know.

You are a senior in high school, you have made it to the final year that you have been looking forward to since the first day of freshman year. Whether this has been the worst or best four years of your life, appreciate it. You will never have these times back, you will never be in high school again. It is hard for someone still in high school to wrap their brain around, but there will be a day when you wish you could be in the shoes you're in right now. Here are 15 things I have learned being in college that I wish I knew as a high school senior:

Everyone, and I mean everyone has heard of the show "One Tree Hill". Many people think that this show is the best thing they've ever watched and others won't bother watching it because they know they'll get hooked. And yes, I know many people have written about this show before, but I couldn't resist. I could re-watch every season multiple times to the point where I can almost quote an entire scene. Trust me, once you start "One Tree Hill", you will be hooked. There's way too many reasons to list as to why you'll love this show, and these are just a few.

The first two weeks of classes have come to an end and they have been anything BUT easy. It seems like life has been serving up more bad than good and in all honesty, the only thing you want to do is crawl under your covers and hide from the rest of the world.

Although this seems like the best solution, it is also the easy way out. Take it from the girl who took basically a whole week off from her life because she just could not handle everything that was being thrown at her. This caused her to feel extremely lonely and even more stressed out for being behind in classes that JUST began.
