And not feel post lazy day guilt.

Eight Ways to Spend Your Day Off
stranger things

With the semester in full swing, managing multiple jobs, and other life responsibilities, it is rare when I get a day off. For that reason I try to make the most of these days. I think many people have high hopes for being productive on their days off, just to spend another day laying around and feeling bad about it at the end. So here are a few ways to spend your day and not have that end of a lazy day guilt.

1. Make a list of all the things you need to get done

This is definitely the easiest thing to do on this list, basically only requiring the effort of getting a piece of paper and pen, but it can be one of the most rewarding. It is always very relieving when I can get everything I need to be done written down in front of me, it makes everything seem a whole less daunting and makes me feel like my life is a lot more organized when I have a really hectic day in the future.

2. Actually do your homework

This might be the hardest thing to do on the list, because it requires a bit of motivation. But this is definitely the most surefire way to avoid the guilt of a wasted day off.

3. Do at least one or two chores

Whether you live at home or live with roommates, they will appreciate (and probably be shocked) if you actually get around to doing the dishes or taking out the trash. And it won't even take you much time.

4. Watch an entire season of a show on Netflix

Another easy task, this one might not seem very productive but if with your hectic schedule you never really get the chance to sit around watching TV, then you'll probably feel pretty relieved to spend your day off finally watching that show everyone has been talking about. (I mean Stranger Things is only 8 episodes!!).

5. Work on a hobby you haven't done in years

Whether it's a musical instrument, creative arts project, or going for a bike ride, doing an activity that you used to enjoy but haven't had time to do since you've started "adulating" can feel extremely rewarding.

6. Getting outside

Even if it's just for a few minutes or maybe you get the chance to lay out and read a few chapters of a book, actually seeing sunlight can make a day off seem a lot more productive.

7. Hang out with a friend you haven't seen in forever

While it's very tempting to live like a hermit on your days off, you will definitely feel better finally getting around to seeing your friend that you've always been claiming that "you guys should get together soon" and never actually get around to it.

8. Catch up on sleep

You should probably not go overboard with this and end up sleeping until 2 pm (surefire way to have that lazy day off guilt) but if you are sleep deprived then it is important for your health to take advantage of an opportunity to sleep in.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
