8 Things Every Girl Needs In Her Dorm Room

We all know we came to college for an education. In order for us to be productive in the classroom, we’ve got to be fab and organized in the dorm room. Now is the time to get prepared! Here is a list of 8 essential items every girl needs in her dorm room.

1.Full-length mirror:

When you dress well, you work well. Having a full-length mirror in your room will save your life! It makes it much easier to plan your outfits stress-free and make sure your class ensembles are fab every day of the week.

2. Room décor:

Your dorm will be your new home this year. Make it feel that way! Bring whatever you need to make sure you feel like it is your space. This is one of the fun parts about college. Go all out!

3. Planner:

Time management is crucial in college. Staying organized is the key to a stress-free school year. Make sure you purchase a planner where you can list out your whole day. Don’t forget, sometimes buying a cute one is even more motivation for you to actually use it! Plan on, ladies!

4. Business attire:

Professionalism is key. Dress like it! There will be endless networking and job opportunities on campus. Always make sure you have business professional attire ready. You never know who you may run into.

5. Cute book bag:

It doesn’t matter if you use a regular backpack, small purse or big tote. You need some type of bag to carry your class essentials. Don’t be that student who isn’t prepared for class. Keep your bag stocked with the supplies you need.

6. Air freshener:

Don’t let your room be the funky one. Besides keeping clean, use scented candles or room sprays as an amazing way to make sure your room smells fresh. If you prefer not to burn down your dorm, regular air fresheners or wall plug-ins may be the safer option. Having a great-smelling room is really the icing on the cake.

7. Chic and comfortable bedding:

Are you the professional daytime nap taker, the person who does all their work in their bed or just someone who sleeps there? Either way, you are going to want some comfortable bedding. Sleeping is your time to relax and recoup. Make it the most comfortable place in your room, and the cutest!

8. Beauty/Toiletry organizer:

Let's face it, you will bring tons of makeup and toiletries to college, and rightfully so. Make sure you have something to organize all those items. Nothing can be a bigger hassle than not being able to find what you need when getting ready in the morning.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
