College brings a lot of change. You leave home, you meet new people, you're on your own for the first time. College is hard. It's not like high school where you get an A for showing up, although some classes are like that. You have to put in effort. But there are a lot of struggles that aren't related to class.
1. You no longer have your parents to give you money at a moment's notice.
Sometimes you will literally pay for a pizza in quarters, you just gotta own it.
2. There's a lot of FOMO.
You're friends are going to want to go out on a Tuesday, and you can't because you have an exam the next day. Don't worry, they probably had no fun without you.
3. Netflix is your best friend ... and your greatest enemy.
"Oh, sorry I haven't seen you in three days. It's because I watched every episode of 'Parks and Recreation.'"
4. Textbooks cost more than your soul.
The professor SWEARS you need it for the class, and instead you use it as a coaster.
5. All-nighters are inevitable.
Walking out the library in morning can sometimes move you to tears.
6. Walking to class in anything less than perfect weather is miserable.
No one can even tell you're crying because it's raining or snowing so hard.
7. You miss your family a lot.
I need my mom </3.
8. You are constantly being asked what you want to do with your life.
I DON'T KNOW STOP ASKING ME!!!
College is actually a lot of fun. It's four, sometimes five, years of happiness with some of the best people you will ever meet. In the end, the struggles are worth it, and you'll be happy you learned about life and yourself there.
