Unfortunately the summer has officially ended, which means we're back at school and in need of Netflix shows to watch while we procrastinate. If you're like me, and every other college student I've ever met, Netflix is an extremely important part of life. Not having a show to watch on Netflix is the absolute worst. So as you find yourself lounging around putting off an assignment, here are some shows you should definitely check out.

1. One Tree Hill

One Tree Hill is my favorite show of all time and if you haven't seen it, you definitely need to. Once you get into it, you become so invested in the characters and their relationships that it's unreal. It's super relatable watching the characters go from teenagers into adulthood, while they each face something that you can connect to.

2. Gilmore Girls

When I heard Gilmore Girls was coming to Netflix I got so excited. I used to watch this show on ABC Family everyday after school with my mom. I have such love for the main characters, Lorelai and Rory, and I think any woman can easily relate to both of them. Their mother-daughter relationship is so great to see and you will quickly fall in love with both of them.

3. Gossip Girl

I thought I wasn't going to like Gossip Girl, but then I started watching it. Once you start it, you'll be hooked for life. It's crazy to watch the super glamorous lifestyles that these teenagers live and the drama that they all face. This show is crazy and entertaining and relatable even if you're not a sixteen year old multi-millionaire.

4. Grey's Anatomy

I feel like everyone who watches this show is convinced that they could become a surgeon, but that just goes to show how much people connect with this series. I gave in and finally started watching last year and it was a great decision. This show will make you laugh and cry all while keeping you super entertained.

5. Hart of Dixie

I have been a huge fan of Rachel Bilson all the way back since her days on The O.C. Hart of Dixie is an adorable series that follows Rachel's character, Zoe, from New York City to Blue Bell, Alabama. This is a show that doesn't require too much brain power to watch, it's just mindless entertainment that never fails to make me smile.

6. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

This Netflix original series is crazy, hilarious, and unlike any other show out there. Kimmy's character is extremely quirky and funny to watch. Plus the theme song will get stuck in your head for days because it's so catchy.

7. Parks and Recreation

I've loved Amy Poehler since her days on SNL so getting into "Parks and Rec" was super easy for me. It's very similar to The Office, so if you are a fan of that show, than this one is for you. You are also going to fall in love with Aziz Ansari because he is hilarious.

8. The Vampire Diaries

This show is like my guilty pleasure because it is slightly embarrassing to say I watch. Regardless, this show is a lot better than I thought it was going to be and it is really easy to get hooked on. It's much different than other vampire type shows, and in my opinion, much more original.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
