Eight Reasons To Love Weddings

Weddings can be kind of a hit or miss type of deal. Most people love all the romance and happiness they bring. For some others, it is somewhat of a reminder how single they are. I, however, think weddings are the best type of occasion to be a part of and here's why:

  1. The groom's face when he sees his bride walking down the aisle is one of the best moments at a wedding. For most sappy lovey-dovey girls, they cannot wait for that moment in their own lives.
  2. Everyone in the family is finally able to be together for something other than a holiday. What is better than seeing your 80-year-old grandma have a few drinks then try to bust a move on the dance floor?
  3. For those of you 21 and older, the open bar really hits the spot. Who doesn't enjoy a free drink?
  4. Hitting the dance floor with your closest family and friends never fails to be a good time. The best part about that is, you can dance like a complete fool because chances are, over half the people there are over fifty anyway. Therefore, they themselves don't know how to dance so they can't judge.
  5. As usual, the food is always a key factor. Weddings always serve delicious food, and of course, there is always cake!
  6. For the girls, going to weddings when you are younger is great because you can make little side notes in your head about what you liked and disliked for future reference when the time comes. Yeah, that makes girls sound a little crazy, but we can't help it and we are all guilty of it.
  7. The reception is where most of the memories are made. It is a great time to catch up with those you have not seen in a while as well as watch some of your overly intoxicated aunts and uncles make fools of themselves.
  8. Overall, the details of the wedding, such as the colors of the bridesmaids' dresses, how gorgeous the bride looks, the flowers, and the venue of the ceremony create a happy positive atmosphere that makes it hard to not enjoy. It all comes together for the bride and groom on what's supposed to be the best day of their lives.

Weddings bring so much joy for all of those reasons. Even men are able to get in touch with their emotional sides to see how special a wedding day can be.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
