The 8 People You're Probably Friends With

Friends [Frends]

noun-

The people who know all your flaws and still manage to be seen out with you. You laugh until you pee your pants, eat until you can't move and drink until you can't walk. They have your back and you have theres. They're the reason behind your bad GPA's, excessive weight gain and uncontrollable laughter.

1. Party Girl

This girl is ready to go at a minutes notice. She usually spends her weekends downing mixed drinks and beers and she’s lucky if she makes it home with her phone and ID. She knows everything and anything that’s happening off-campus. She’s the girl every one wishes they could be, but sadly they know their GPA wouldn’t stand a chance.

2. Wonder Woman

Just looking at this girl you can tell she is going to be a billionaire one day. She’s the only one in your group of friends that has her life together come Sunday morning. She spends the majority of the time in the library, but come Friday night she is ready to go...right after she finishes her homework.

3. The Princess

This girl doesn’t know the real meaning of being a broke college kid. Her parents put money in to her bank account weekly and she spends it on outrageous things. Her Easter is comparable to your Christmas, but hey, you can’t be made you get all her “old” things. #Winning

4. The Gym Rat

This is the girl you wish you could be. In college going to the gym usually isn’t anyone’s top priority unless you’re an athlete, but this girl changes the game. She meal preps every Sunday and wakes up at the crack of dawn. Her day ends usually before yours begins. You envy her body and swear you’ll start your diet…tomorrow, which we all know never happens.

5. The Stoner

To be honest you couldn’t tell the difference if this girl is stoned or just a ditz. She’s a go with the flow kind of gal that everyone loves. You can laugh at her or with her but chances are she doesn’t get it anyway.

6. #Selfie Queen

This girl is your sister. You love her for so many reasons but the number one reason is probably her awesome pic skills. She knows the perfect angle and where the best lighting is at a house party. Every moment is a Kodak moment in her eyes.

7. The Makeup Artist

She’s your own personal stylist. She knows hair, makeup, and the whole nine yards. She usually does everyone’s makeup before she even does her own. Ask her anything pertaining to beauty and she has you covered. She also is the only person you know that looks cute for an 8 am.

8. The Team Leader

She doesn’t take no for an answer. She is first to sign you up for something you probably don’t want to do and she probably made shirts for it already. She’s competitive and will do anything to win, even if it means hurting a few feelings along the way. She’s not afraid to voice her opinion even if it’s mean, but you have to love her anyway.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
