Music Can Cause Major Impact On The Mind And Soul

Everyone has had a moment in their life where they lie down, put on a good song, and lose themselves. If you haven't yet, you probably will. What is it about music that lets us escape everything?

Whether you are blasting a rap song with a catchy beat or a country song that puts you in your feels, there is no denying that music is very influential. Not only is music good for the soul, but it has also been shown to improve the human brain. In the article, "How Does Music Affect Your Brain?" by Ashford University it is mentioned that listening to music not only releases dopamine, making you happier, but it can also help improve memory and auditory processing as well.

It is interesting to think that something as simple as a catchy beat can do more than just get you dancing. Music is used throughout society to influence how we feel. Every time the TV is switched on there is a pretty good guarantee that the viewer will be exposed to a commercial or ad.

Brands use music to help construct their commercials; developing them into perfect traps for the everyday consumer. Music streaming services have grown substantially in the past few years allowing even more ads to be promoted to listeners.

Streaming services are not known for their ads, despite how many they may have. They provide a great way to listen to different types of music and help listeners get exposed to new artists. Music can really bring people together.

When I first met my college roommate our interactions were limited to the occasional greeting and maybe a quick conversation. After realizing we both listened to the same artists we were able to bond more and have become really close.

Music is a great way to connect with other people or to experience other cultures. Not only does music provide a nice escape from daily problems for the listener, but it allows the world to really come together. It positively affects the human brain and can help to alter emotions felt by the listener.

The next time you're going through something, need to take a break, or just want to have some fun I dare you to plug in your headphones and blast some music. Trust me, it's worth it.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
