I am sick of hearing that I am never going to make any money. That I’m going to have to marry rich to get by, or support a family. You may be right, but don’t you think I thought about that before declaring my major? I would rather be happy and love my job than be rich and hate my work. To me, it is important to love your work and genuinely care for what you’re doing. In my case, I will be teaching kids. I know I won’t become rich being an educator, but I will have other rewards, like a child finally grasping a subject. I think being a teacher is the most rewarding job a person could have, to be in charge of teaching children, our future generations.

“Your classes are so easy!” Actually, they’re not. If they were as “easy” as you thought I would have a 4.0 GPA, and a full ride scholarship, but they’re not and I don’t. This has to be one of the biggest insults in the book. I have to take regular classes just like every other student- Geology, Biology, English, History, then I get to the good stuff. Some majors may be more tough than others, but then again some people are smarter than others, some students want to stay in all day and study. Me on the other hand, I’m in school to get an education, but I’m also here to have a good time before I’m pushed out into the real world of working, paying bills, and living on my own.

“Ew, I hate kids they’re so snotty and gross, why do you want to work with them? You’re always going to be sick.” I get this more often than one would probably think. I’m sorry you don’t like kids, but I do. I may not like your major but I’m not insulting you? I like kids for whatever reasons you don’t like them. They are young, innocent and they don’t know all of the bad things adults do. They don’t know what a cruel world we live in, they’re just happy. They’re happy to see their friends, they’re happy to go to school, they just want to have a good time. Okay, I may get sick more than I would be working in a cubical all day, but my immune system will get used to it.

I want to be a teacher because I can be creative. I can come up with great ideas and make learning fun for kids. I want my students to want to come to school and learn. I like having nice things, but there are certainly other ways I can make money. And don’t forget educators get their summers off, to make some extra cash or spend time with family. I want to make a difference, give back to the community. So please, do not ask me again, yes I am sure I want to go into education. I do not want to sit in a cubical all day, or do hard labor, I want to be a teacher.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
