Dear Readers,
I am greatly honored to accept my new position as Editor in Chief for the Odyssey. Who knew that they would trust someone who can barely make it to class run an actual staff of people!
When Blaize Stewart, our former EIC, offered me this position I truly thought he was crazy. As a non journalism major, I found myself wondering if I was really suited for this position, and if I could actually get an issue to print without royally messing up. Thankfully, I've got an incredible staff behind as we encounter the many leaps, bounds and probably stumbles that this paper's future holds.
What inspired me to apply to be a writer, and then the EIC, is that our paper isn't just a representation of the greek community, but the visions and ideas of a cohesive and unique group who might not have imagined themselves as writers. I am proud that this feeling lives on.
In this next semester I hope that I can make you laugh, using my shamble of a life as a great comedic prop. With the growing staff and the craziness of U of I to inspire me, let's all hope that I don't screw up too horribly and get fired.
Cheers,
Suzannah
