An Open Letter To My Sister To Show You How Much You Really Mean to Me

To my sister,

I don't say it enough how truly thankful I am to have you as my sister. You have changed my life in more ways than you could possibly know, and more ways than you could possibly count. You have always been a shining example of the woman I aspire to be; as you are genuine, kind, respectful, true, hardworking, forgiving, loving, loyal, and inspiring. You should be nothing less than proud of the woman you are, and the life you have lead.

From watching you grow from a child, to a teenager, to a woman, to a wife, to a mother, you have taken on each phase and role of your life with grace, patience, and ease (you have always made it look easy!). You have displayed immense strength through every challenge you have faced, always keeping a smile on your lips and never a frown.

Thank you for always being there for me, always being a listening ear. You allowed me to be your little shadow, even at times you just wanted to be alone. You have built me up when I was down, been at my side when I needed someone the most, made me laugh until I couldn't breathe, and been someone I could just sit in silence with, just enjoying your company. Thank you for your constant optimistic view on life and showing me the beauty that's within the little things.

I have been incredibly blessed to call you my sister, and am immensely thankful for all you have done and continue to do for me. And I promise to do the same. I promise to always be in your corner, to build you up when you are down, and to support you. No matter the time or place, you can always count on me.

Thank you for being one of the greatest blessings in my life, I love you.

-your sister

If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
