My newest style obsession may be shocking for those of you who know me well—a T-shirt. Growing up, wearing a T-shirt out in public was a punishment in my house. I would hate the way it made me feel lazy and like I just had rolled out of bed.

It just wasn't my thing—until now.

I just love playing with the idea of taking fancy outfit pieces and dressing them down to wear for everyday use. A graphic tee is the perfect way to do just that. A graphic tee is something that almost everyone has readily available in their closet and is easy to be overlooked.

But little did you know—this extremely versatile piece could be used as the secret weapon to transform your outfit from over-dressed to super impressed. Here are some easy ways how.

1. Pair with a fancy skirt

Tulle skirts and pleated skirts make the perfect pair with a graphic tee. Just tie a knot in the front to avoid looking too boxy and wear tennis shoes to dress it down even further. This looks gives you the perfect balance of feminine and edgy.

2. Layer it under a jumper or jumpsuit

By adding a graphic tee and tennis shoes to a jumper or jumpsuit, the extra layer gives the outfit a new level of edge and character.

3. Layer under a lace or satin tank

Instead of just wearing a plain T-shirt with jeans, add an extra element of style to your look by adding a fancy lace or satin tank top over your tee to spice up any look. Even throw on a leather jacket or heeled booties to really kick it up a notch.

4. Wear it under a faux fur jacket.

It's pretty challenging to sport your elegant faux fur jacket without looking too extra for everyday wear. Layering with a graphic tee is the perfect way to dress this outfit down and give a more casual and trendy vibe.

Whether your aesthetic is edgy or feminine, a graphic tee is the perfect layering piece to come in clutch and take your outfit to the next level. Luckily, this trend will not break the bank. If you don't already have a million graphic tees, you can find cool vintage ones at the thrift store for $1 or less!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
