We were encouraged to apply for scholarships constantly in high school, but how many have you applied for in college? I'm willing to bet it's zero. Did you give up hope of ever obtaining one? Sometimes the scholarships are too demanding and require a superhuman effort plus a genius mind just to be considered for the award. Don’t feel dispirited just yet! Here is a list of feasible scholarships that all college students are eligible for.

1. Unigo monthly scholarships.

Unigo offers a new essay prompt each month. Responses need be only 250 words about a very creative topic. Previous prompts have asked the best way to survive a zombie apocalypse and what is your favorite ice cream flavor and why. Make an account and let your creative juices flow; Unigo will accept any format or answer to the question. Previous winners have written poems and flash fiction stories. These mini-essays are so much fun to write about especially when you could win $1,500 to $5,000 for your creative piece!

2. Courage To Grow.

This monthly scholarship offers you the chance to win $500 for an essay of a maximum of 250 words. Simply answer the question: “Why should you be awarded this scholarship”? I enter this every month with the same formatted prompt; it is easy to do! The only requirement is that you must have a 2.5 GPA or higher to be considered for the funds.

3. Niche No Essay 2K.

This is the easiest scholarship to apply for. Simply make an account with Niche, which gives you access to hundreds of other scholarships, and fill out your information for a chance to win $2,000. This award is offered to both high school and college students up to graduate year five. You don't even have to write an essay and this scholarship isn't dependent on your GPA either.

4. Dosomething.org scholarships.

Dosomething.org is a nonprofit organization that offers scholarships in return for help with service projects. In the past, they encouraged participants to write as many ‘Thank You’ cards as possible to troops overseas and have started social media campaigns against bullying. The maximum age to enter is twenty-five. Helping society while potentially winning a scholarship sounds like a great deal to me! Award money varies from $1,000 to $10,000 depending on the project.

Scholarship season didn’t end in 12th grade. There are plenty of scholarships out there for the average college student! Wouldn’t it be awesome to not have to worry about paying for that $275 microbiology textbook that you probably won’t use anyway? Find your motivation and enter one… or all of them!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
