It's already tough enough to juggle between schoolwork, different clubs and sports, and relationships. Finding time to take care of your mental and physical well-being on top of that can seem impossible. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy some tips for taking care of yourself when you may not always be your top priority.

Read or Write

This one may seem like a chore for some, but a book is a great way to feel a little more relaxed. If you are not a reader, then pick up a pen and write what you're feeling. Writing is a therapeutic way to deal with stress because there are no rules involved.

Draw

If you're not a reader or a writer, perhaps you are a drawer! Even if you're not very good at art, try copying something you see online. You may surprise yourself with paints or markers. If nothing else, print out some coloring pages, grab those colored pencils, and get to work.

Take a Nap

This may not be the best way to take care of yourself, but sometimes you have those days where the only thing you want to do is lay in bed and scroll through your phone. There's nothing wrong with that, as long as you don't do it every day. Taking a one hour nap can make you feel like you can take on the rest of the day.

Meditate

This may turn a bunch of you off, but hear me out. Meditation is not always the monks that sit in a room for hours, meditation is a form of breathing. When you first begin meditating: sit in a room by yourself, put on some comfy clothes, light a candle that helps you relax, sit up straight, and close your eyes. You will take deep breaths and focus on your breathing, after about five to ten minutes, you will feel refreshed and revitalized.

Take a Shower or Bath

This goes hand-in-hand with meditation, as it is all about taking your mind off of stress and focusing it on something relaxing. A nice, warm shower with fresh towels or a bath with a new bath bomb or bubble soap, these are some of the best ways to de-stress.

Drink Water and Eat Your Favorite Snack

Watching what you put in your body is just as important as any other form of self-care. When you eat something good for you, you will feel better. If you don't want to eat something healthy, then pick up a glass of ice water and eat that cupcake!

So there you have it, a few tips for living a more stress-free lifestyle during the stressful school months. There are many more self-care tips, some very interesting, so there's much more to try other than those stated!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
