Everybody loves the new years, especially because of the many resolutions that help you have that perfect fresh start. Here are 11 easy New Year's resolutions to actually follow through with this year and can focus on day by day.

1. Drink more water

This first one is pretty simple. Try to drink more water. It’s not only good for you but if you’re trying to lose weight this year, drinking more H2o is the most important. Try to drink as many ounces that are equal to half of your weight. So if you weigh 160 pounds, try to drink 80 ounces of water.

2. Be nice

This is also pretty simple, be nice to people. Go out of your way to be extra friendly to someone. Even if you think you can’t get any nicer, try your best to do four random acts of kindness a day. Try to spread joy in the world.

3. Try new foods

Try to go out of your comfort zone more often in the food realm. Who knows, you might find your new favorite food!

4. Start a habit tracker in a bullet journal

Scientists say that it takes 28 days to make a habit. Why not make more than one using a habit tracker?

5. Workout

The resolution that almost everybody adds to their list. Working out makes you feel good and look good!

6. Put yourself out there

Put yourself out there! Meet new people, make new friends, and why not even explore the world? You won't regret it. You never know what you might experience.

7. Work on being more confident

Confidence is key to everything. How are you going to live your life if you're not confident? It'll be pretty boring if I say so myself.

8. Spend more time with family

Family is important. You may not like them, but after all, family is family.

9. Spend less money

Enough said. More money is the better way to live.

10. Go out of your comfort zone.

Try to go out of your comfort zone. Go to clubs if you don't like people. Try to meet as many new people as you can. It can be hard to do this, but you won't regret it in the long run.

11. Stop procrastinating

This is pretty simple. Stop procrastinating. We all like to push off huge assignments, but do you know how good it feels to have a completed assignment two days before it's due?

New Years resolutions are tough. Some follow through with them, some don't. I hope after reading this that you have found one resolution that you will be able to follow through with.

8 Things I Realized After My First Semester In College

Actually, Kylie Jenner, 2018 is the year of realizing things.

The first semester of college is famous for being one of the most difficult transitions of one's young adult life. You're thrown into a completely new area where the majority of the people surrounding you are strangers in an academic environment that's much more challenging then what you've grown accustomed to for the past twelve years. On top of that, you probably share a room with another person (or even multiple people) on the lumpiest "mattress" you've ever slept on.

With this change comes a lot of questions: what do I want to major in? What am I passionate about? Is what I'm passionate about something I'm actually good at? Why does the bathroom smell like cranberry juice and vodka? What is that thing at the bottom of the shower drain?

6 Unrealistic Expectations Society Has For Young Adults

Don't let the thesaurus-inspired vocabularies in our résumés fool you. We're actually just big kids.

Well over four feet tall and 100 pounds in weight, many of us "young adults" of the world still consider ourselves children. Big, working, college-attending, beer-drinking children. We may live on our own, know how to cook noodles, and occasionally use a planner, but don't be fooled; the youthful tendencies that reside within us still make their way into our daily lives. From choosing to stay up until 3:00 a.m. playing video games on a school night to going out in 30 degree weather without a coat, we still make decisions that our parents and grandparents would shake their heads at in disappointment. So why are we expected to know exactly how to be a wise, professional, sensible adult? It's not that we're irresponsible (for the most part, anyway). It's that we are young, inexperienced, and still have the sought-after, enthusiastic mentality that we can do and be whatever we want, which has not yet been tarnished by the reality of the world. These are just a few of the unrealistic expectations that society has for young adults.
