12 Signs You're A Speech Pathology Major

As you read this article you are either a Speech Pathology major or you know someone who is. Here are 12 signs that you are a speech pathology major.

1. You think of it to be normal to almost gag yourself as you repeat the sounds /k/ and /g/. These aren't the only sounds you produce aloud because it's become natural to produce all sounds out loud.

2. As an speech pathologist, we are detectives and great with puzzles. We put all the pieces together. If you think we do just one thing, you're wrong. We do it ALL!

3. This was your reaction to the girl who decided to get surgery for vocal nodules instead of having therapy in "Pitch Perfect."

4. Since it's almost Christmas break, I felt like this was the perfect gif. This is how you feel after a semester of all the projects, tests, lectures, constant library time, constant late night studying, and more.

5. This is the reaction when you're cramming for a test and when you're RTM (reading the manual) for a patient. Standardized tests just have so much information to cram into our little brains that have so much information in them already!

6. When an underclassman comes up to you and asks you a question that you know the answer to, you feel like you can go on a rant about the knowledge of all the things you've learned. You feel so accomplished and superior!

7. I want to write an email to Microsoft and tell them that "stimulability" is an actual word.

8. After years of classes, you catch yourself listening to your friends and family talking and imitating the way they talk. Sometimes you even correct them out of habit. (Sorry family. I still love you.)

9. When someone asks you what your major is and you say "Speech Pathology" and they have no clue what that is so you have to say, "Speech therapist".

10. Your friends and family might accuse you of being a grammar nazi. Sorry that my professors taught me to be awesome!

11. I feel you Cory Matthews, I feel you.

12. We've all had emotional breakdowns from pure stress, but we're a family and we get through it together.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
