Easter, New Beginnings, And God's Love

Jesus rose from the dead but you rose to the occasion.

For most people, Christmas takes the cake as the favorite holiday, but as I grow older, Easter seems to steal my heart more and more each year.

Easter has been twined and twisted into many different meanings and interpretations but individually, the meaning of Easter to each person is different. For me, it represents new beginnings.

In the spring, we are surrounded by new beginnings within nature. Each spring, flowers begin to bloom, and trees begin to bud. This reminds me of a metaphor for life.

We have many chances throughout our lifetime to start over and try again, such as these flowers. They bloom with beauty each spring but eventually, they’ll die, but that doesn’t stop them from being beautiful.

I think this should remind us that life is hard, but we should always stand tall and be beautiful, kind, and courageous because life is short, don’t waste time. So, every Easter when you’re taking family pictures in front of those tulips don’t forget to appreciate their meaning and strive to be kind.

Easter is a time of gathering. Every year families get together for dinner. This is something that doesn’t happen enough in today’s society. Families are too caught up in life, work, or school to spend quality time with their loved ones. So, this Easter, cherish your time spent with your family and know that opportunities like these don’t come as often as they should.

Coming from a Christian household, I can’t go without saying anything about the resurrection of Christ. For most Christians, Easter is looked at as the day Jesus rose from the dead and defeated the grave, which is so true, but for me, it’s a reminder that God still forgives, he still answers prayers, he will never leave your side.

Easter is a reminder that no matter what you have encountered in life, God will take you as you are and let you start your own new beginning.

Easter is a reminder that if God takes you to the depths of the deepest and darkest ocean, he will stand in the midst of darkness with you and guide you to safety.

Easter reminds me of Gods overpowering, irresistible, constant love. For someone to send their son to the grave because he loved his people so much is something that I cannot grasp. God is love.

Easter should remind us to spread love, especially if you’re a Christian. There are so many negative people in this world and the best way to show someone God is by showing them love.

Love will always win, and love will always prosper. God’s love is never-ending and it’s something that everyone should feel. So, this Easter, remember that God loves you and to spread lots of love.

Your interpretation of Easter might be similar to mine or the complete opposite, no matter the interpretation, enjoy Easter, savor the pastels, and inhale the smell of the fresh spring air because it only comes once a year. Hoppy Easter!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
