I was at the weekly meeting of my college church group and we were sitting around having open-ended conversations when someone brings up this topic: It takes more faith to not believe in a god than to actually believe. This really made me think about everything I have learned in science about evolution and “the big bang”.
Every atom, molecule, and organism had to come together perfectly in order for our world to exist. For trees to create oxygen, we need humans and other animals to create carbon dioxide. Think about pregnant woman; how everything in their bodies just works perfectly to grow another human inside. What about how the body works in general? We have an immune system to fight diseases and our bodies defend themselves against bacteria every day. Even our eyelashes were meant to protect things from getting in our eyes. Every detail is perfect.
Wouldn’t it just be easier to believe in a god?
I’m not here to convince you to become a Christian, that’s not my purpose. But people call themselves Ignostic and I bet half of those people don’t even know what that means. When I talk to people about religion, a good amount say, “I believe that there’s some sort of a higher power.” Could it be that you believe in God, but love porn too much to embrace it? You believe, but you don’t want to follow. You don’t want to give up the things that you do and live a life as a devoted Christian, so you don’t tell yourself that you believe.
It takes more faith in science to convince yourself that the big bang is real and the universe created itself than to believe God did it. Ask yourself this: Why can't scientists and doctors create blood? Our bodies can produce more blood. They can take blood, study it, dissect it, but why can they not recreate it? Is it possibly because God created it?
