IT IS FINALLY THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!

YEP, YOU GUESSED IT, IT IS CHRISTMAS TIME!!!

If you know me, you know how much I love Christmas. I love Christmas so much because it is a time of love, joy and laughter. It is a time of ugly Christmas sweaters and peppermint mocha lattes. It is a time to be grateful for all the things you have. It is a time of giving gifts. It is simply the best time of the year.

I have never had a bad Christmas in my entire life. I think that is why I love Christmas so much. Everyone is just in the Christmas spirit and it seems like everything is just going perfectly.

Something that makes me more enraged than anything though is when someone tells me in their little snooty voice, "It is too early for Christmas." Who are they to tell me when I can and can not celebrate my favorite holiday? And when is the right time to celebrate Christmas? Christmas day? I have already seen Christmas commercials and the Starbucks Christmas drinks are out and it is only November 3rd.

The way I see it is I am not celebrating the holiday every single day of my life. I am simply getting into the Christmas state of mind. Listening to Christmas music, drinking hot cocoa out of my collection of over 20 Christmas mugs, decorating my room with garland, my Christmas tree, lights, ornaments and snowflake are a few Christmas activities that get me in the mood. These activities get me in the mood, but do not by any means mean that I am actually celebrating the holiday in itself. Some people may think that these activities are a part of the holiday, but I am simply prepping myself for the holiday. It makes no sense for a person to tell me that I am not allowed to get ready for Christmas.

So next time you try to tell someone that it is too early for Christmas re-think your statement as they are simply getting ready for the most wonderful time of the year.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
