Who said September is too early to start getting into the Halloween spirit? Target starts selling those $1 Halloween socks in September for a reason. I say out with the summer weather and in with the fall weather! We all know fall as a time for bonfires, pumpkin patches, haunted houses and we can't forget Halloween movies! Although we all like those jump scares, Disney had some great Halloween movies while we were growing up. Why not enjoy time with your friends at a Halloween party with those ghost sugar cookies from the store and watch a few of these Disney Halloween throwback movies while you're at it!
1. "The Nightmare Before Christmas" (1993)
A Halloween movie you can watch September-January and not feel weird about it! A Disney classic with Jack Skellington being the man to try to fix Christmas with many musical numbers that are great basically half the year. Who doesn't enjoy a trip to Christmas and Halloween Town all in one?
2. "Hocus Pocus" (1993)
Bubble, bubble, who's in trouble? Everyone enjoys a little bit of Hocus Pocus in their life during Halloween time!
3. "Halloweentown" (1998)
Who doesn't like a trip to Halloweentown to see the big pumpkin? Make it a marathon and watch all four of them! If you're really in the Halloween town spirit, you can visit St. Helens, Oregon where the movie was filmed! They welcome tourists and they actually have a month-long fest called Spirit of Halloween where they recreate some of the set, like the jack-o-lantern in the town square.
4. "Don't Look Under the Bed" (1999)
This movie had me thinking that the Boogeyman was really chilling under my bed. Probably one of the creepiest original Disney Halloween movies! Who doesn't like creepy happenings in town and the Boogeyman being under your bed? Be sure to double check before you go to sleep at night and don't step in the Boogey Goo!
5. "Mom's Got a Date With a Vampire!" (2000)
What would you do if your mom was going on a date with a vampire? Find out what Adam and his best friend Duffy do when Adam's little brother finds out who his mom is dating.
6. "Twitches" (2005)
Not only is there Twitches but there is also Twitches Too! I mean we all wanted to be a witch when we grew up right? Live in a mansion like Alex and Camryn? We could problem skip the separated at birth and darkness trying to kill our thing. I think a movie perfect for Halloween.
7. "Frankenweenie" (2012)
Another great movie directed by Tim Burton, Frankenweenie is one of the newest edition of Disney Halloween movies! Don't we all wish we could bring back a pet we lost? Well Victor finds a way to bring back his dog Sparky, but lets just say the town isn't very impressed.
