When setting up your schedule for the upcoming semester, you do everything in your power to avoid an 8 a.m. class.
However sometimes it is inevitable and you must face the fact that it is happening and yes you have to go to class. The painful process having an early class is a struggle for college kids nationwide.
Here are six stages tired college students face the day of an early class:
1. The first alarm.
It's here, it's time. You want to do everything in your power to make it stop. This is when you turn over on your side and regret staying up to finish the last season of "Orange is the New Black."
2. Actually getting out of bed.
Waking up is the first step. Getting out of bed is the next, much harder, step.
3. Wait, what is the temperature outside?
After the first week of school, walking across campus before 8 a.m. feels like you're walking through the arctic tundra. During the winter months, checking the weather app before class brings tears to your eyes. No matter how hard you try, you're never really prepared for the morning walk.
4. Coffee, Coffee, COFFEE!
Whether it is from your Keurig or freshly brewed at Starbucks, coffee is a necessity to staying awake through your early class.
5. Counting down the minutes.
Okay, you can do this. Just 48 more minutes until class is over.
6. Your 8 a.m finally being over.
Oh the best part of having an 8 a.m., it ending. It feels dreadful but having an early class helps you get a kick-start with your day. Plopping into your bed once again is the best feeling of it all. You did it. You rose and you conquered. You deserve this nap.
