Being in your early 20s is a roller coaster of emotions and a time of transition. You aren’t necessarily adult enough yet to live on your own or get married, but you have just finished school and are looking to start your career. Some of you may even still be in school and are not leaving the cocoon of college just yet. No matter where you are in your journey, you will relate to some degree.

1. Everyone has an idea of how their 20s will go.

Often times, life does not go the way you planned. It can take a while to find the right job or relationship. You might completely change course-- it happens.

2. You have to stay organized.

Repeat after me: time management is the key to success.

3. Even though your bank account would disapprove, sometimes you still need a night out with a friend.

And your friend will understand where you are coming from.

4. You spend some time crying…

Ugly crying is the worst.

5. Even though it is not productive.

Sometimes you need to have the mini pity party, but get back up and keep going.

6. Each year you become less interested in aging.

Let's be honest: after 21, no one cares about birthdays anymore.

7. You reach a certain point where you stand up for yourself.

Stay focused on your goals, but sometimes you need to put someone in their place (stay classy, though).

8. You also start to let go of people who do not better your life.

Some friendships drift away through no fault of anyone. Other times, you need to remove a "friend" who is not adding value to your quality of life.

9. Sometimes you still need advice and that’s OK.

It is okay to ask a parent, friend or partner for advice. Just because you are in your 20s does not mean you have all the answers. (Bonus Mature Points, if you actually admit that.)

10. Once in a while, you will drink something you shouldn't.

Always drink responsibly.

11. Your hard work will pay off.

It may not feel like it now, but you will have the life you want someday. You will have the dream job, the best partner, a lovely house, and beautiful kids. Just keep working towards your goals.

12.You realize everyone else is just as mad as you are.

Everyone is feeling just as confused and overwhelmed as you are. There is a comfort in knowing you are not alone in the madness--although, everyone's madness is different.

Everything you are feeling is normal. Keep your head up--it will all work out.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
