With the NFL season halfway done, many analysts and pundits are determining which teams are legit or not. Some teams are obvious, with the 49ers and the Browns probably gaining the #1 and #2 picks in next year's upcoming draft. The two teams right now that everyone seems to think are the best are the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Eagles have been the biggest surprise of the 2017 NFL season so far. Wildly predicted to be third or last in their division, the Eagles now have the best record in the entire NFL. With the recent acquisition of running back Jay Ajayi and the fantastic performances by quarterback Carson Wentz, the Eagles are deemed for a playoff run. However, are they the best team in the NFL right now?
Many people are stating that the Eagles do not have a tough schedule. This is flat out wrong, as they are actually tied with the Dallas Cowboys for the 10th strongest schedule in the NFL. This is very significant since the Eagles have only lost one game by a touchdown to the Kansas City Chiefs, who is considered to be the best team in the AFC. And that loss was only in Week 2. The Eagles are a much different team now and are even better than before.
It is too early to talk about going to the Super Bowl. It is only the mid-way point of the season, but the Eagles are legit. The team knows that they need to take each game at a time, and play each game like it's their last. With a win over the Dallas Cowboys on November 19th, the Eagles have a very strong chance of winning the NFC East.
For those saying the Eagles are overrated just do not know the facts. Yes, the team has flaws. But the pros outweigh the cons. And the Eagles know that NFL fans are doubting them, and are playing with a ferocity that has not been seen since they went to the Super Bowl in 2004.
