Each Stage Of A Relationship As Told By Rap Lyrics
Caroline McBroom Photography

I am a workaholic. Once I find something I like to do, I do it with 100% effort. In between my sorority and being a college student-athlete, love gets put on the back burner. One thing that gets me through is music. Relationships, man. They come and go. Music will always remain the same (unlike all my past boyfriends.) Here are lyrics I have found that correlate with each stage of a failed relationship.

Drake: "You know life is what you make it / And a chance is like a picture / It'd be nice if you just take it"

Taking a chance on someone is like jumping in a river for the first time. All your friends are doing it, so you think.. why not? You're scared, and everyone is pushing you to do it. Listen to Drake, take the chance.

So you finally get the guts to jump in, aka text him back.

Chance The Rapper: "Everybody's somebody's everything, I know you right / Nobody's nothing, that's right"

ALL OF THE FEELS. The sweet stage of a relationship. Everything is new, doors are being opened, lunch dates, etc. We've been there.

Chance The Rapper: "I hope every soda you drink is already shaken up"

Yikes, arguing. The petty stage. Someone lied or did not tell the whole truth and now feelings are hurt. Let's be like Chance. We can hope their soda is already shaken up and then it spills all over their MacBook Pro. Also doubles as the sad stage... when you know deep down the relationship just is not going to work. Cue: "Grey's Anatomy" and ice cream.

Kanye West: "The plan was to drink until the pain was over / But what is worse, the pain or the hangover?"

Re-freaking-tweet. You have to go through rain before the rainbow; just do not use alcohol as an umbrella.

Drake: "Please start doing you, I have been doing me / And I'm a staple in my city, you can never ruin me"

No one can pull you down, girlie. You are a staple in the city. If you see him at that downtown bar, shoulders back and head high.

Big Sean: "I put everything into motion, like I-N-G"

Big Sean just does it for me... Wow. Do you plan to move on? Or are you MOVING on? Put it into motion. Onto the next one... *peace sign emoji*

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
