Everyone loves "The Office," it is comedy gold. But if I had to choose a favorite character, I would have to pick Dwight Schrute. He is so hilariously unapologetic for being himself that I can't help but love his character.
Here are seven episodes where Dwight is overlooked, but really is the star of the show:
1. "The Alliance."
Season 1, episode 4. Dwight approaches Jim about forming an alliance in preparation for the downsizing of the company. His intentions are charming but his execution... well, you'll have to watch the episode.
2. "Email Surveillance."
Season 2, episode 9. Jim hosts a party at his house, intentionally not inviting Michael Scott, their boss. Dwight question Jim's intentions for not inviting Scott because Dwight is loyal and a good friend to Michael. Jim tells Dwight that it is a surprise party for Michael (it's not) and Dwight goes the rest of the episode thinking this and it's the greatest thing ever.
3. "Dwight's Speech."
Season 2, episode 17. Dwight is terrified to present his speech after winning the "Salesman of the Year." You wouldn't think he doesn't like public speaking, given the eccentricity of his character, but I love that he is (I am right along there with him).
4. "A Benihana Christmas."
Season 3, episode 10. Michael has just been broken up with and Dwight does his best to comfort him. But, Michael would rather have the company of other people. Dwight deserves better!
5. "Women's Appreciation."
Season 3, episode 23. This might be my second favorite Dwight episode. Phyllis gets flashed in the companies parking lot and immediately Dwight takes over and does everything he can to find the culprit.
6. "Launch Party."
Season 4, episode 3. The company's website just started running and Dwight tries to beat its sales. While dealing with roadblocks from Pam and Jim, his heart is so set on winning you can't help but root for him.
7. "Counseling."
Season 7, episode 2. Dwight comes into the office mad about a shop at the mall under looking him because of his appearance. The office plans to "Pretty In Pink" the shop.
