By now, everyone in America has probably heard of the country going crazy over the possibility of Oprah Winfrey as the 46th President of the United States. But, before Oprah's name got tossed in the hat, there was another person that had my interest, specifically.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

So, why would this professional wrestler turned A-list movie star be able to make a solid run for the Oval Office? Well, let's start with his humble beginnings.

Johnson frequently references his family's financial struggles and how he and his family were evicted from their residence. How did he try to combat these struggles? He turned to the gym. He started working out and, to this day, he says he still works out like his family is about to get evicted.

Johnson attended college at the University of Miami with a football scholarship where he was a defensive tackle. (Fun fact: Johnson was on the Hurricanes' National Championship team in 1991.) After getting cut from the Calgary Stampeders (a Canadian Football League team), he began to train to become a professional wrestler.

During his time as a wrestler, he won over the crowd during the majority of his career with his charisma and his speaking ability. The Rock became "The Great One" and "The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment."

Johnson left the WWE in 2004 to pursue a career in Hollywood where he became a household name, even more so than during his wrestling days.

So, that's a great career so far. But, why oh why does that mean that Johnson would be a good Commander-in-Chief? Well, in an interview with GQ, Johnson has said that he hasn't ruled out a political career path yet.

And if celebrities like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Donald Trump made it as politicians, why can't The Rock?

He's a smart man, as well. He owns his own company (Seven Bucks Productions). He is super hard-working. He gets up early every single morning to hit the gym and proceeds to work all day long.

So why in the world would people vote for him? Well, I'll give you all some reasons why.

1. He's a smart man.

2. He's a successful entrepreneur.

3. He has executive experience.

4. He is above average in his communication skills.

So those are just some simple reasons to vote for Johnson, but here's another thing that I've saved for last: he is one of the kindest humans on the planet.

I've seen countless Instagram posts of The Rock stopping his truck outside of a set in order to chat with fans after a long day of filming. A lot of actors don't do that.

So, will we see The Rock make a run for the White House in 2020?

Probably not. Johnson has big plans and he is showing no signs of slowing down. But, and you're hearing this here first, folks, maybe in the year 2028, we could see a very electrifying individual on our ballots for the President of the United States.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. The transition from living with parents to being on my own was an experience I couldn't have even imagined- both a good and a bad thing. Here's a personal archive of a few of the things I learned after going away for the first time.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.

For many undergraduates across the nation, the home stretch has begun. Only one more semester remains in our undergraduate career. Oh, the places we will go! For the majority of college seniors, this is simultaneously the best and worst year out of the past four and here’s why.

1. The classes you are taking are actually difficult.

A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project. The upside is you actually probably really enjoy these classes but alas there is no room for slackers here.
