If the giant "YO" (although I like to think of it as "OY") sculpture isn't enough to get you to Dumbo, now there is something else to draw you to this gorgeous park. The Cliffs, who own many indoor rock climbing venues in the tri-state area, have opened up an awesome bouldering park right on the waterfront. For nine dollars you can do all the climbing you want and get geared up by the pros.
Bouldering is not the same as the rock climbing you did at your friend's birthday party as a kid. You are not harnessed, so you can't just let the poor guy belaying you do all the work. Bouldering is a free climbing adventure where you can get a workout of just have fun. The grand opening of this outdoor bouldering park was April 16th. The Cliffs will also be holding events there in the future. and you can take lessons if you want to improve your bouldering skills. The Dumbo Waterfront is a great place to picnic, take a stroll, or get some exercise. It is extremely accessible by just walking over the Brooklyn Bridge, which is an activity in itself. So, go try out your climbing skills at this great new facility, you won't regret it!
