Baseball is one of America's greatest games, but Starkville does baseball different than the rest. From February to May, Dudy Noble Field is the place to be. There are a few essentials that make our baseball season stand out in not just the SEC but also the nation.
Left Field lounge
Dudy Noble is the home of the original Left Field Lounge. Here you can find a variety of people such as fraternity boys, Mississippi State alumni, and spirited fans. These people will be enjoying the game while grilling out, eating craw fish, or enjoying a cold beer. Over the past 50 years, it has grown to be known as the "number one place to watch college baseball."

Coach John Cohen
Coach Cohen is another thing which makes MSU baseball so great. Cohen graduated from Mississippi State in 1990 and returned to Starkville as the Bulldogs' coach 18 years to the day after playing his last college baseball game at the College World Series in Omaha. Five years later, he led his alma mater to a runner-up finish in the 2013 College World Series.
The History
The 2015 season will be the 125th year for Dudy Noble Field to be open for business. "The Dude" has hosted seven Southeastern Conference championship teams, has twice hosted NCAA District III tournaments, four SEC tournaments, one SEC Western Division Tournament, 12 NCAA Regional tournaments, and a Super Regional in 2007. After 125 years, Dudy Noble is still THE place to watch college baseball.
The Diamond Girls
The Diamond Girls are essential to a successful baseball season. They are seen mostly on game days at Dudy Noble Field while serving as hosts and handing out programs to fans when entering the stadium, operating the stadium’s gift stand, and serving on the field during games as bat handlers. The Diamond Girls have their own calendar each year which has every game and every players birthday on it to raise money for the baseball team.
Thanks to these things and many more, baseball is best at Dudy Noble. Thank you, Dudy Noble, for making baseball great.
