Drive is a verb. It means to "propel or carry along by force in a specified direction." If you want to be concrete about it — it means to use force and move something. If you want to be abstract about it — it means to make something happen.

People can get overwhelmed by the things that they want to do. This causes them to never make them happen. If you have tons of ideas - don't get overwhelmed. This proves that you're a constantly searching person. You are a thoughtful individual.

So what does it mean to have drive? Does it mean to be able to push forward? Does it mean to have work ethic? Does it mean to try? The answer is up to you. Drive can be a just a word to you, or it can be philosophy.

So what prompts someone's drive? It can be work, people, themselves, fame, money, etc. What you do in this life is determined by how much you are willing to go get it. Now, I know what you're thinking. "That's said all the time." You're right. People wouldn't reiterate it if it wasn't true. People wouldn't keep agreeing with it if it didn't work out for them.

Do you want to leave a footprint on this world? Don't be the person that people always ask what your middle name was. Don't be the person who people ask if you were at that one gathering. Be the person who makes things happen. Be person who's name is remembered throughout time and history. Have you ever thought about how there was a time before your birth that you didn't exist and the world still turned? The world won't wait for you. Don't wait for the right time. Right now, right here, make your statements and drive clear. Be the new name plastered on the wall. Up high above the rest of them all.

So back to the beginning. The world is at your fingertips.

Drive. A verb. What does it mean to you? It could be just another word in your vocabulary, or it could change your perspective. It could change your outlook on life. Your first step in making it change your perspective is changing the previous sentence from saying, "It could change your outlook on life," to, "It will change your outlook on life." Everything you do is in your mindset. Change your mindset before you change anything else in your life. That's how you can change things.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
