Driving Matters

Just Drive.

Driving Matters
David Cronin

As a child I would pretend a hanger was a steering wheel and I would mimic my mom has she drove. The moment I saw the Ford Mustang for the first time, my passion for ownership of a car was sparked. I was told early on that I would have to buy my own car, so I saved my money when I started working and eventually I started shopping for cars. I ended up browsing thousands of vehicles and I actually test drove nearly 20 of them. I came extremely close to buying several of the cars; nevertheless, there was always an issue that hindered me from buying my first car.

I am the type of person that likes to coast slowly on the country back roads of Alabama, so I can soak up the overwhelming peacefulness of the surrounding cotton fields as well as subtle engine purr while I gently press my foot on the gas pedal. I needed a reliable car with soul. I needed rear wheel drive with a solid 8 cylinder engine, so I eventually found an amazing 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis that I bought out right in cash.

Driving is not a chore because driving cleanses me. Driving is my drug. Driving is my escape. That is why it was so easy for me to be passionate about teen safe driving laws and regulations while I was in high school; considering, driving means so much to me. Driving Matters.

“I just want you to know that you’re very special… and the only reason I’m telling you is that I don’t know if anyone else ever has.”

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:
