Driving to Cape Cod is a lot like Toby (or even Gabe) — no one likes it, and it robs us of our happiness. If you don't leave at the crack of dawn, then you must be prepared for the long, tiresome journey ahead, making your trip to the Cape a lot like this:
You finish loading up the car, and there is only one thing on your mind.
You pull out of your driveway and hit the road.
Once you get on the highway, you become brutally aware of the traffic.
It's all right because you bump your playlist and get the party started.
Life is good until you see the "parking lot" style traffic as you approach the Bourne Bridge.
So you try to bond with the people in the car next to you, but they don't get your vibe.
Your "friend" decides to cut you off with no where to go.
As you reach the second hour of your drive, your thoughts begin to wander.
While you're too busy reflecting on life, you suddenly realize you're alongside the same person who cut you off 20 minutes ago.
You pass through the Bourne Rotary, knowing that you're oh-so-close to paradise.
Your excitement fades away as you grow tired of looking at the same shrubbery on Route 6.
As you pull into your destination's lot, you realize you were stuck in traffic for nearly three hours.
It's okay because you know you have a whole week ahead for sand, sea, and sun.
