This story goes out to all the '90s kids who grew up watching amazing Nickelodeon cartoons like Ren & Stimpy (my parents found this one too crude for young children, but I still found ways to watch it every now and then), Rocko's Modern Life, Hey Arnold, and, of course, Rugrats. The show about a bunch of talking, babies who go on adventures inspired a generation of leaders who hide screwdrivers in their pants just in case they need to escape from sticky situations. And no, that sentence didn't that sexual in my mind. Anyway, here are 5 moments in which our favorite toddlers lived more exciting lives than we do as adults. Yes, I am aware many of these moments were imaginary, but a guy can dream, can't he?
1. That time they saved Tokyo from an evil robotic Reptar while at the drive-in movie
One of the greatest tv special of my young life that made me want to visit a drive-in while wearing pajamas.
2. When Tommy took the babies out of Egypt
Still the greatest holiday special of all time apart from A Rugrats Chanukah
3. That one time the Rugrats went wild, Wild Thornberries that is.
In the words of The Clash "Should I stay or should I go?"
4. Reptar totally kicking Robosnails butt on the streets of Paris
Minus the technical difficulties that brought Stu there in the first place.
5. When the gang recreated the opening scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark
Hold on to your diapies!
6. And when they enjoyed a rousing musical number with a bunch of circus monkeys
oo,ee,oo,ah,ah,ting,tang,walla walla bing bang!
7. Spike taking on a wolf and living to tell the tale
Literally, he was voiced by Bruce Willis at one point!
8. Coming up with misconstrued idioms that are better than the original.
As Bob as my witness...
9. When they took a burden upon themselves even though they were just babies.
Napping be damned!
10. When Reptar was on ice!
"Hey! Look! It's some kids! On the ice! What's a dinosaur to do when there's kids on the ice! Quick! Somebody call their MOM!"
Don't like the list? Well,, deal with it!
Pickles out....
