Dressing for a Girl vs. Dressing for a Guy

The title sounds weird, just read it.

Dressing for a Girl vs. Dressing for a Guy

Ok, so moment of truth.

I have a new obsession and her name is Nicole Richie. She has a new show called "Candidly Nicole" where she just does a bunch of random stuff and is hilarious throughout the process.

In one of her short five minute season two episodes on YouTube, she and one of their guy friends help their friend pick out an outfit for a first date. The guy questions Harlem pants (MC Hammer pants) and pretty much tells the girls that these pants are weird and boys don’t like them.

It’s a girl thing to dress up and want to be high fashion, but sometimes boys don’t really appreciate fashion. They think fur vests are weird, Harlem pants don’t fit right and oversized sweaters are for Grandmas only.

Boys just like revealing clothes. I’m not saying to wear revealing clothes, because if a boy only likes that about you then he obviously isn’t boyfriend material. Guys like normal clothes. Stuff that looks cute on and isn’t the newest hottest trend that they do not understand.

Girls like high fashion: rompers, fur vests, jumpsuits, oversized everything, and whatever else we see on any fashion magazine that we can afford. We just want to be different and best dressed.

Dressing for your friends involves having the latest thing out. Using unknown shopping websites is like my fav thing, because then no one dresses like me, but then my boyfriend questions my fashion sense, while my girl friends praise me for being high fashion, cute and different. It’s such an odd thing.

I guess the whole moral of the story is to please your target audience (lol a term I’m using in literally every single one of my classes). If you’re going on a first date don’t wear something that your girlfriends will like, wear the skater skirt and button up top, because it’s simple, cute and guys understand it. But if you’re going out for a fun girl’s night wear whatever you please, because fashion is what you wear, but style is what you do with it. (Hair flip emoji here.)

Friendship. It's defined as the state of being attached to another person by feelings of affection or personal regard, but what really is friendship? Is it that occasional hallway talk with that one person who always manages to cheer you up? Is it that relationship you have with someone where they can be gone for a long period of time, but when they come back, it's like they never left? Is it spending every waking hour with someone, and knowing every detail about their life? Is it the relationship that's filled with fighting, but filled with even more resolution? I've learned that it's all of these things, and every friendship is different. It's a beautifully dysfunctional mess that should always be cherished and never be taken for granted.
