There's no doubt walking around in baggy sweats and a over-sized sweatshirt is heaven on your body. You want to throw your hair in a ponytail or leave it running down your back, knotted? No problem. You want to wear flip flips or running shoes, or maybe the pair of sneakers your dog chewed up? Honestly, it doesn't matter. Because if you're dressed in sweats and sweatshirt, no one is going to care. Why? Because they think you're dressed like a slob.
People are either going to judge you, or they won't even notice you're a breathing human being.
In middle school, I didn't care what I looked like. I wanted to be comfy. So I wore sweats and a sweatshirt practically everyday. Of course, I had my favorite. The gray sweatshirt that tugged contently around my waist and hung loosely around my chest providing me with the most comfy sweatshirt of my middle school life.
In high school, I only dressed up because it was game day.
Freshman year of college and my obsession with sweats became aggravating. I did not care. I didn't care what anyone thought of me. Everyday was pajama day, and I took advantage of that. I woke up, went to class and returned back to my dorm room to sleep the rest of my free life away.
I had no idea what affect dressing so poorly would have on my life.
I was a slump. I was tired. I didn't want to go out in public if that mean't I had to put on real clothes. I honestly did not care what people thought.
Dressing poorly has a negative affect on your life. Run away from the sweats!
I made the decision to put effort into my daily wardrobe, and I felt invigorated. It has impacted my life both mentally and physically.
I feel mentally prepared for the day, to face the world and to meet new people. Physically, I feel better about my appearance. I do feel prettier and I am more comfortable with myself. There's nothing wrong with this. I feel confident.
Dressing to impress has aloud me to open up as a person. With my confidence, I feel free and excited to go out on the weekends, meet new people, and experience life.
Don't use the weekday as a reason to dress like a slump. Don't use the weekend as the only time to pull out your jewelry. Get up on a Monday morning and curl your hair. Pull out your favorite dress on a Sunday. Pull out your highlighter and mascara and wing the crap out of that eyeliner. Do it for you.
I, most of all, understand the beauty of wearing sweats. However, there is a breathtaking view that comes with dressing in stilettos and a black dress. Dress to inspire others. Dress to make a point. Dress for your confidence. Most importantly, dress to make yourself, as they say, "Look good, [and] feel good."
