Be Sure To Break Your Dreams Down, But Don't Let Them Break You

"One day you will look back on this season and know that you are truly blessed, and not because things were perfect but because you found perfect grace in the worst of it." - Meghan Harper Nichols

There are all kinds of dreams. We've all got so many, and they all vary so incredibly much. Our own dreams range in differences, and they vary from each other's dreams.

Break down your dreams. It helps.

Broken dreams. The ones that may be left you heartbroken and confused as to where you're supposed to go next. They were the dreams that you had once wanted so desperately, yet you had to watch them shatter at your feet.

New dreams. Maybe you came up with these, or maybe they somehow seemed to find you. The idea of them may still give you butterflies, or they might still live in this seemingly unattainable reality. They're untouched, they're new and exciting and a little bit scary. But they're ready to be pursued.

Secret dreams. We've all got 'em. The dreams that you're crazy about and even find your mind wandering off to when life gets dull. These might be the dreams that require you to get the most outside of your comfort zone, and that's a scary thought. You might be hesitant to even share these with anyone, for various reasons. Fearful of their reaction, of a lack of support or possible judgment.

But these aren't their dreams. They're yours.

Then there are big dreams. The ones that send your mind soaring far above the clouds and you find it difficult to reign yourself back in. Dreams so big that you may be perfectly fine with leaving them as just that - dreams. The word unrealistic might come to mind.

It gets overwhelming. Life is busy and it's chaotic and it's so easy to get lost in the seasons of life. It's hard enough to simply keep up with the change as it comes.

It seems like the worst possible idea, right? To initiate this change with your own choice?? Especially if it's a hard change.

But I dare you to take the last five months of 2018 to initiate some of your hardest changes - some of your biggest dreams.

Something I struggle with the most is feeling like I can only accomplish wild things when the time is good. When the summer is right. When things are happy and moving in the direction that I selfishly want them to go. I get caught up in seasons of life. The good season and the unavoidable "bad" season.

And that's when I stop chasing. I let my mind get fogged over and I lose sight of what I want the most, and I forget how to chase those dreams. Don't let that happen to you.

Because regardless of what season of life you're in, whether it be good or bad, there's still good. There's still sunshine. Just because you may not be in your summer doesn't mean that there's no sunshine to be found. It's there, you just may have to look a little harder to find it.

A bump in the road doesn't equal a rough season. Not if you don't let it. Decide for yourself that this part of your life is gonna be so bright. And then make that happen.

Let yourself dream wildly.

Find what makes you the happiest or find those childish ambitions that you used to daydream about that. Because who says you can't turn those into your own reality? Find those dreams of yours, then break them down.

New dreams. Broken dreams. Secret ones. Wild ones.

They're your own. Put them into a season of your life. Recognize those hard seasons, and leave your broken dreams back there in the past. Claim this season as your brightest one yet, and unleash those big dreams of yours.

Don't lose yourself in the process, but rather find yourself through it. Don't feel the need to explain them to others along the way.

Be brave and be bold and be in your most beautiful season yet.

Rainy days in the summer are still those carefree summer days.

Now go chase after what you want the most. Find that perfect grace in the midst of it all.

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.

Mistakes are something we all make, no matter how old we get. Most of the time, the mistakes we made are little and sometimes due to something out of our control. Yet, there are mistakes that are bigger than others. Personally, I have mistakes that I wish I could go back and undo. Here they are:

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
